VanWaganen Library

The Van Wagenen Library, which was constructed in 1973, had not had any significant renovations to any of its major systems or components since its original construction. For this building to continue to serve the College the facility needed a major renovation.

AOW Associates was pleased to be selected to perform this work and continue to build on the growing relationship with SUNY. The project included code compliant building entrances, public and staff toilets, and building alarm systems, infrastructure upgrades to the existing elevator, along with new temperature and humidity controls for library book storage study spaces, replacement of the primary switch, substation, transformers and panel boards, and installation of additional electrical outlets and network connections throughout the library.

The project also involved improvement to light efficiency and controls, replacement of water closets and urinals with water saving fixtures, and repair work on masonry exterior walls. This project has greatly improved the library’s overall function for students and staff members alike.
