Northway Surgery & Pain Center
AOW was selected to construct the new, state of the art ambulatory surgery and pain management center in Halfmoon, NY. The Northway Surgery and Pain Center was founded by independent physicians from The Albany & Saratoga Centers for Pain Management and New York Pain Management, teaming together to provide more cohesive services to the Capital Region.
The Center’s primary service area includes the counties of Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren and Washington. Using National Center for Health Statistics estimations, the partners of the Northway Surgery and Pain Center expect to provide medical care for 182,000 people within the six-county service area. The Center estimates it will perform 10,000 procedures annually.
The Center consists of three class B operating rooms and one class C operating room with essential support spaces. The eight pre-op and eight post-op bays take advantage of being located against perimeter walls, offering desirable natural light into the spaces. The patient and family waiting area is spacious and comfortable and includes cathedral ceilings and large spans of glass in the entry. Free WiFi for waiting family members is one of several amenities offered to guests of the Center. The exterior design of the building introduces modern elements including cement panels and cultured stone.
Close coordination with the Owner was crucial in order to execute the project with the aggressive, established timeframe and budget.
