NLH Emergency Department
AOW completed a 9 month project at Nathan Littauer Hospital’s Emergency Department from December 2009 through August 2010. The project cost was approximately $1.9M and it included the expansion and partial 1st floor renovation of the existing emergency department. Due to its complexity and multiple phasing requirements, careful consideration was given to infectious control procedures as much of the work had to be completed near occupied spaces of a fully functioning Emergency Department.
Several swing spaces were created in order to facilitate the phasing moves prior to start of the E.D. expansion and renovation. The hospital staff went through multiple phasing relocations in which AOW renovated other existing areas of the hospital by moving their imaging department, library and doctor’s lounge and mammography. It also included the relocation of the existing emergency department admissions in order to make proper accommodations for the E.D. expansion and renovation. The overall expansion consisted of approximately a 3,000 square foot addition of the existing hospital emergency department and approximately a 6,000 square foot interior renovations of the existing facility.
AOW also completed several other projects at this local hospital during the time period of August 2009 through August 2010: Construction of their New Birthing Center, Cat Scan Relocation, Doctors Lounge and Library Relocation, West Dining Hall Renovations, Family Practice Renovation and the renovation of their Pediatrics Department.
