The Glendale Home
Glendale Home is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility offering long term care and short-term rehabilitation services. The new facility was constructed in front of the existing facility which was demolished once construction was complete. The new facility, owned by Schenectady County, has 185 patient rooms, 9 great rooms, 5 country kitchens, as well as amenities in common areas to include a salon, activities room, and multi-purpose rooms.
BBL Construction was the Construction Manager of this project and AOW was selected to provide and install custom casework, running trim throughout, decorative columns, solid surface sills, door heads, and trim. These finish features contribute to the warm and welcoming feeling Glendale Home provides.
Upon entering the building, patients and visitors are greeted with great examples of AOW’s superior craftsmanship from the wainscoting and column enclosures all the way up to the custom wall panels in the clerestory.
Details to include running trim and solid surface window sills throughout the building contribute to the “at-home” feel. AOW worked closely with other trades on many aspects of this project including the installation of poplar door heads and trim for the sliding doors in each of the patient rooms.
The job required extensive coordination between trades to maintain the schedule and ensure the finished product met the highest quality standards
