SUNY Whitman Residence & Dining Hall
Located on the State Quad of SUNY Albany’s Uptown Campus, the Whitman Residence is also home to the quad’s dining hall.
Renovation of this dormitory began in April 2009 and was completed in August of 2010. This project was designed with LEED requirements for green building, and was certified, post construction, as LEED Compliant.
The project called for a full renovation of the residence hall and dining hall as well as renovations to the office area “U-Lounge” and the loading dock.
AOW had to carefully coordinate construction activities so as not to disturb the students in the adjacent buildings which remained occupied throughout the project. Special attention had to be paid to designated “quiet time” as the students prepared for exams.
