AOW’s design-construct role for The Glen at Hiland Meadows Retirement and Assisted Living Community enabled a seamless vision from architectural design through construction. The Community located in Queensbury on a 45-acre site, was designed and constructed to take advantage of the tranquil setting and breathtaking views of the nearby Adirondack Mountains. 

AOW was brought in at the end of the project’s design development phase by the Owner to help keep the project within   budget and scheduling constraints.

The AOW team responded by redesigning portions of the facility and breaking down each aspect of the budget.  As design-builder, AOW was crucial in creating an architecturally successful community, while containing costs and meeting a demanding construction schedule.

The construction yielded 61 independent living apartments, 18 cottages, 2 guest suites, and 44 assisted living units.  The Glen at Hiland Meadows Retirement and Assistive Living Community is considered a model of senior living design and is featured in the March 2003 issue of Design, an annual publication of Nursing Homes Long-Term Care Management.
