The Ray Wemple Memorial Ice Rink is owned by Schenectady County and offers recreational skating, ice hockey, and figure skating programs for all levels. Schenectady County selected AOW to do renovate the existing locker room areas and a 4,500 sq ft addition. The rink was in need of updates to its outdated locker rooms, an entrance and common spaces to better serve the community.

The addition included locker rooms with shower areas, offices, a rental area, and a new entry sequence. Overall, this project left the rink with 14 brand new locker rooms, 2 common spaces, a new area for skate rentals, and a new lobby.

The main difficulties during construction included that the rink was occupied throughout the entirety of the work to allow skating lessons, hockey games, and other activities to continue uninterrupted. The project also operated on a tight schedule so the owner could make available the new spaces to the community as soon as possible.
