Nathan Littauer Hospital Amsterdam Urgent Care

AOW served as the General Contractor in the construction of a new 10,000 square foot urgent, specialty, and primary care facility intended as a joint venture between Albany Medical Center, the building owner, and Nathan Littauer Hospital, leasing 70% of the facility. This multi-specialty service center expands healthcare access to adults and children in the Mohawk Valley Region.

Albany Medical Center oversees vascular surgery, neurosurgery, maternal fetal medicine, and pediatric specialty care services, leaving the majority of the space dedicated to primary and urgent care services provided directly by Nathan Littauer Hospital.

This project was completed on time despite a heavily aggressive schedule and required significant coordination between members of the project team. The constructed space includes 14 exam rooms, multiple treatment rooms, radiography and CT Suites, a reception area, and various restricted staff support spaces. A locked medical storage room was created, and a card entry access system was installed for staff use.

Multiple medical service offerings translated into an HVAC system requiring six separate handling units, two CRAC units, and multiple ductless split systems to provide the end user with the air requirements needed in a medical setting.
