AOW has routinely sponsored this event for the Columbia-Greene Hospital Foundation, which this year, raised over $500,000 for the hospital and its surrounding facilities. This year, the event featured an auction which raised money specifically for funding new cardiac technology. Modernization of CMH’s hospital and care providing offices located within the region allow CMH to continue to provide high quality services to the community. The event was held this year at The Historic Catskill Point and guests were able to enjoy the beautiful views of the Hudson River on the patio and the beautifully decorated dining areas inside. AOW annually sponsors this event for The Wesley Community and this year’s theme was “Gatsby Style”. This year, the event raised $73,000 for the Wesley Community’s Springs Building renovation work, being completed by AOW, currently underway. The Wesley Community has provided older adult care services and programs for 40 years and offers a unique blend of community living to ensure quality of life at every stage of life. Wesley offers independent housing, enriched living, short term rehabilitation services, long-term care, adult day services, and out-patient therapies for members of the community of all ages. AOW was a first time sponsor of this event for Saratoga Independent School which supports the expansion of academic programs and teaching resources. The event raised over $20,000 and included both silent and live auctions as well as a “wine pull”. The Saratoga Independent School was founded in 1991 by parents endeavoring to empower students to become critical thinkers, team players, and true problem solvers. The Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region was founded in 1912 and is known for its pioneering efforts in providing this community with a wealth of social services. Trinity’s service offerings include a variety of education and literacy programs, health and wellness services, transitional housing, and the Capital South Campus Center, a space designed to support training, education, and community enrichment while housing day care and youth programs offering stability to the most disadvantaged members of our community. The Winter Blast is annually sponsored by AOW and benefits Columbia Greene Memorial Hospital and satellite care centers. Held at the Helsinki Hudson, and attended by 250 guests, $120,000 was raised for the Foundation through ticket sales and fantastic silent auction items including vacations to San Francisco, New Orleans, and Montreal. Musical entertainment was provided by the Glen David Andrews Band. The funds raised will be allocated to needed renovation projects in both Columbia and Green Counties. On Saturday, January 10, 2015, the staff of the Blue Plate Restaurant, located at 1 Kinderhook Street in Chatham, NY, hosted their 12th Annual Post-Holiday Party to benefit the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA. Since this event began supporting CGHS/SPCA, it has raised more than one hundred thousand dollars for the shelter, which serves nearly one thousand unwanted, abandoned, lost and/or abused animals every year.  All the food was donated by the staff and friends of the Blue Plate.
