Good Samaritan Hospital Operating Room Renovation

Due to increased demand for surgical services, the core operating suite at Good Samaritan Hospital was set to be renovated in multiple phases at night. Through communication and meeting with the Vice President of Facilities and the Head Nurse for the operating suite, a plan was developed to renovate rooms in pairs for a total of 5 phases for OR rooms, 1 for the PACU, and 2 to accommodate needed work in the corridors. As the project went on the facility opted to change out 24 stations worth of millwork in the PACU, add new doors throughout the suite and add extensive ceiling work in the corridors. Through close scheduling with the clinical staff, the project was completed on time and under budget.

Good Samaritan Hospital HVAC Upgrade

During the process of the OR renovation, the hospital added to the work a separate project that involved changing out the main return fans for the Operating Suite, installing all new VAV boxes to each OR and all ancillary rooms, and rebalance the entire operating suite. Due to the need for the Operating rooms to be operating at full capacity during the week, all work needed to be completed on weekends. Scheduling by the hour was required to complete this project in order for the Hospital to remain free from disruption.

Plainview Hospital Outpatient Surgical Suite

This project involved the demolition and renovation of an existing OB/GYN suite into an Outpatient Surgical Suite. Upon completion of the first of two phases, the clinical staff made multiple changes to the overall design and layout of the suite that required returning to areas previously completed, without damaging any of the finishes. The second phase involved extensive abatement and the creation of new bathrooms and showers. Close coordination was required with the Owner on the piping routes that needed to be fed from mains in the basement given the lack of viable shutoff valves.
